About

My work is ultimately about mindful, skillful, and balanced living. Life is short-- I want my clients to enjoy the process regardless of what life throws at them. I help people move beyond difficulties such as substance abuse/other compulsions, excessive self-criticism, symptoms of depression and anxiety, difficulties with relationships, trauma, and other human struggles. My style is authentic and warm yet exceptionally direct. I'll help you learn to identify what's not working so you can create space for healing and skills that lead to high quality living. The ultimate goal is radical self-love/acceptance.

I began my career in mental health over 29 years ago. I utilize a combination of depth oriented, somatic, and skills based techniques (IFS, EMDR, DBT, CBT, Relational). My areas of expertise: substance abuse, addictions, trauma, struggles with self-worth, and mood and anxiety disorders. My treatment is informed by continuous training and consultation.

Research indicates effective therapy is often less a matter of technique (although this does matter!) and more a result of a trusting therapeutic relationship. Finding a therapist suited to you is crucial to a successful outcome. I bring a warm, honest, and grounded presence to our work together in an effort to build therapeutic trust.
