My name is Kristine Hughes, and I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in California. I enjoy treating individual adults and teens experiencing mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder, anxiety/panic attacks, substance abuse/addiction, self-harm behaviors and suicidal ideation, stress, relationship problems, abuse, and trauma. My therapeutic approach utilizes techniques from Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. The most foundation and important therapeutic element however is the safe trusting relationship built with each client. My greatest successes have been in treating individuals experiencing mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder, anxiety/panic attacks, substance abuse/addiction, self-harm and suicidal ideation, stress, relationship problems, abuse, and trauma. I strive to provide a warm, empathetic, emotionally safe, and supportive environment during therapy sessions. My communication style is friendly and casual with frequent use of humor during our time together. Life is serious enough.... therapy doesn't always have to be!
