I am a licensed professional counselor with over 30 years experience as a helping professional. I have been married since 1982, mother of six and grandmother of thirteen and counting. My personal life experiences has given me the unique ability to work with individuals, couples and families who are adjusting to children transitioning out of the home, adjusting to an empty nest, the growing pains of newlyweds, first time parenting challenges, affair recovery and caring for elderly parents and children (the sandwich generation). As a woman of color, I know what it’s like to be acculturated to act like everything is ok and to be told to “just pray about it” and it will be ok; but where does that leave you emotionally and spiritually when everything isn’t ok?
