I work primarily with adults who are having trouble negotiating difficult life stages. I treat both short-term, acute problems and more pervasive, long-standing problems. My years of training, first in CBT, and later in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic approaches allow me to use both in my practice. The client and I decide on treatment approaches based on his or her strengths and preferences. My graduate program and research experience are Cognitive Behavioral in theoretical orientation. I completed a 2-year post-doctoral fellowship at the Menninger Clinic in Topeka, KS (psychodynamic theoretical orientation). I completed psychoanalytic training at the Center for Psychoanalytic Studies in Houston, and I am now a faculty member there. Feel free to call or email me to talk more about what you need from therapy.
