My goal is to help those suffering from emotional or relationship problems, self-defeating patterns of behavior, and recurring periods of uncertainty or self-doubt. I also specialize in the treatment of treatment-resistant depression, anxiety-related disorders, personality disorders, and PMDD. My approach to therapy involves understanding how difficult experiences from our past can affect the way we feel and behave in the present. Our past experiences are often the reason we sometimes struggle with the same emotional and relationship problems throughout life. It is only through understanding our past struggles can we expect to achieve a lasting and meaningful change in the present. I believe in emphasizing the development of a collaborative relationship between therapist and client, while fostering a safe, nonjudgmental environment that gives people the freedom to explore and understand their feelings and thoughts. I have found this to be the most essential component in helping people develop their inner strength and overcome their difficulties. Although the process of starting psychotherapy can feel like a daunting task, for most it is also the beginning of an amazing journey.
