About

People seek my help because of a troubled relationship or feelings of anxiety or depression caused by some important life disappointment. They are often internally conflicted about how to deal with their distress and seek understanding and guidance from a supportive professional. For men the focus is often on helping them become more emotionally self-aware and attentive to their partners; for women it often means helping them find ways to be more assertive and clear about their needs.

I work with both individuals and couples. My approach is supportive, non-judgmental, and practical. In couples therapy I focus on feelings of being unloved or undervalued and the dysfunctional interactions that often result from such feelings. I also work with divorced or divorcing couples to collaboratively address the needs of their children.

I welcome the opportunity to meet with you and learn about the issue or issues you are struggling with. A single meeting is not a cure all but it is often emotionally calming and promotes confidence that the problem can be understood and solved. I also help people anxious about the pandemic and getting vaccinated.
