I know that getting started with a new therapist and committing to working on yourself is really hard work. As you likely suspect, the benefits to your life and ripple effect of this work makes the growing pains worthwhile. Perhaps you’re feeling stuck in life, alone, or you’re dealing with emotions and situations that feel overwhelming. While these feelings can be a normal part of the human experience, it’s also valid to want guidance, support, and some additional tools to navigate them. I am a psychologist with training in working with both adults and older children/adolescents (12-18) who are experiencing a wide range of concerns related to emotional distress, relationship challenges, traumatic histories, identity issues, problems at school or work, and adjustment to life changes. During sessions, I welcome clients’ expression of the full range of their emotional experience. I have a respectful, collaborative, and non-judgmental approach. I also view interactions within the therapy relationship as an opportunity to notice, discuss, and gain insight into patterns that may exist in my clients’ lives outside of therapy.
