Therapy is a place where solace, healing, and personal journey know no bounds. Life can be unpredictable at times which may lead to hardships that can be explored together in therapy. I am a Counseling Resident and CSOTP at CFS, Inc. My therapeutic style is grounded in Humanistic and Existential approaches, but I also utilize other techniques to tailor to client needs. I aim to empower clients and work collaboratively as equals, while maintaining cultural awareness and sensitivity. As a therapist, I value communication, patience, empathy, and optimism to get to know my clients and establish a strong therapeutic alliance.
While society has grown to become more accepting of mental health, help-seeking can still be overwhelming. Understanding barriers to mental health care also means acknowledging the complexity of cultural differences and challenges. Growing up as an Asian-American has taught me to recognize and view hardships through a multicultural lens within this field.
I strongly believe that combating the stigma of mental health requires a safe space, compassion, and advocacy for my clients. Whether you need a person to talk to or want to address specific issues, it is never too late for your voice to be heard and gain the assistance you want or need. Please do not hesitate to contact me for any questions or concerns.
