People seek therapy for a variety of reasons and therapists approach therapy in a variety of ways. You might find my treatment style helpful if you know what you are “supposed to do” to feel better but aren’t sure why you struggle to take those steps. I have over 20 years of experience working with adults to address feelings of low self-esteem, shame, depression, anxiety, and relationship concerns. I will approach your concerns from a psychodynamic and feminist understanding. This means that I will listen very carefully to what you say, view you as the expert on you, consider ways your identities and navigating systems of power impact you, and ask questions to bring what is outside of awareness into awareness. Most important to your therapy is that you find a therapist with whom you feel safe and comfortable so you can move toward greater self awareness and authenticity. If you would like to further explore that possibility, please email me with your interest.
