About

I am an individual, couple and group psychotherapist with over thirty years of experience. I work well with individuals experiencing distress related to anxiety, depression, grief, stress, trauma, interpersonal difficulties and the impact of health issues on mental health. My goal is to establish a warm, collaborative and safe therapeutic relationship within which clients can address their distress and develop an understanding of the roots of this distress. My focus is to help individuals and couples build on their strengths and address their vulnerabilities to achieve their personal and professional goals while developing a sense of peace and enjoyment in their lives.

My approach is primarily psychodynamic and relational. When appropriate, I use mindfulness-based, CBT and hypnotherapy techniques. Together, clients and I develop an approach that fits their unique circumstances.

I bring to my psychotherapy practice over thirty years of experience on the faculties of Harvard Medical School and the Department of Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital. Currently, I am on the staff of the Center for Group Psychotherapy
