I specialize in working with trauma, anxiety, depression and relationship issues. I help clients gain insight into what is getting in their way and to develop healthier coping strategies. I also work extensively with those struggling with addictions, including alcoholism and sexual addictions and compulsive internet pornography use. I have successfully helped break the interference of addictions and compulsions to lead healthier, more productive lives. In addition, I often work with spouses/partners who are struggling with the impact (and trauma) of these addictions on themselves and their relationships. Although only one part of my practice, compulsive use of internet pornography is a painful issue for many individuals as well as their significant others. Recent studies of divorce attorneys have indicated that pornography use is cited as one of the major contributors to divorce for 50% of divorcing couples. In addition, I have considerable experience with survivors of childhood abuse and trauma. I use both talk therapy and a technique called EMDR. EMDR is often quite useful in helping to resolve the ongoing pain of survivors. (More information is available at www.emdr.org)
