Kara Boelk, LMSW, has over 9 years of experience in social services. Kara has worked in settings including Comcare Children’s and Crisis services serving both children and adults experiencing mental health symptoms. Kara has also worked within the juvenile justice system, providing evidence-based mental health services to youth. Kara also has experience working with Veterans and the homeless population and is currently employed full-time at the Veteran’s Administration as a Homeless Outreach Social Worker. Kara has training in several therapy modalities including Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Seeking Safety, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), strengths-based perspective, and a systems-based approach. Kara is also obtaining training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Kara is specializing in providing therapy services for youth ages 5+ and adults facing a variety of mental health needs including depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, and ODD. Kara is currently working on obtaining her clinical licensure and is receiving clinical supervision from Rebeca Sandoval, LSCSW.
