Life can feel overwhelming; many of us find ourselves juggling work, school, activities, meetings, appointments, household needs and so on. Especially when we're faced with a new stressor, or something traumatic, finding the right support can be even more stressful. As a board certified & registered clinical Art Therapist, I am specially trained to use art in a psychotherapeutic setting. I love working with kids, teens & young adults in my private practice as we navigate emotions such as anxiety and depression, growing our self-awareness, self-regulation & anything life has thrown at us, big or small. View 9 Photos As the pioneer art therapist at Children’s Mercy, I supported a vast population. I valued my role in working with the WHOLE family unit: the patient as well as siblings & caregivers. Therefore, I continue to bring this approach and perspective to ALL of my work. I know that when one family member is going through something, it can impact everyone. You may be thinking, "What if I'm not good at art?" Luckily, you don't have to be! Art Therapy can provide a safe way to process emotions by indirectly talking about them through art "prompts." Together we'll build a sense of trust, safety & rapport so you feel comfortable exploring emotions, including past trauma, through the art making process.
