My approach to therapy is focused on finding what works best for the individual to help them make changes that are realistic and achievable. I want people to feel comfortable and even have fun, because I don't feel that therapy has to be all doom and gloom. Though sessions may sometimes be heavy and emotional, my goal is to always have those I work with leave each week with a positive outlook. Humor is very important to me and I try to make sure sessions are infused with laughter to assist in making the process more comfortable. I want everyone that comes to see me to feel as though they understand how and why they may be struggling so that we can identify real solutions to be implemented. Coping skills are great tools, but the root of an issue needs to be addressed so that we are able to make permanent changes to any negative patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I utilize aspects of TFCBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing in my practice. I want to make sure that everyone who comes to see me feels safe, comfortable, and that they are making progress. Please feel free to call, text, or email me with questions you may have, or to discuss the possibility of starting treatment!
