About

There are many reasons people start using substances and typically one commonality to stop using: the desire to be healthy and find a "new normal". I've seen many lives changed for the better when recovery becomes a part of life's routine. COVID 19 is sending our communities towards a new normal and as a counselor, I’m ready to help people develop a new, drug free normal.

My work has mainly focused on adults and the family members who support their recovery efforts. I utilize CBT, mindfulness exercises, and Constructivist theory to help clients re-frame their thoughts and behaviors. Understanding the impact illicit substances have on the brain can encourage a person to make new choices that are healthier for them.

I believe people want to make changes and can find answers if they are willing to be honest, first with themselves and then with those who are supportive to their recovery. Mindfulness helps with inner calm and deciding what is most important. CBT supports new ways of doing things and helps someone to make healthy life choices they can stick with on going.
