Julia Deane is a clinical social worker with over a decade of experience working with children and adults. Much of her work has been with those experiencing anxiety, sexual assault, PTSD, depression, self-harm, substance abuse, domestic violence, body image issues, and issues of identity. Julia is a Somatic Experiencing practitioner through Peter Levine's Somatic Experiencing International Institute. This modality helps people identify and discharge trauma in their bodies through psychotherapy. psychodynamic psychotherapy. Her diverse educational and professional background enables her to draw from a variety of evidence-based practices in order to best meet the needs of each individual client. Julia is interested in meditation and mindfulness in clinical practice and how tools gleaned from these traditions can assist clients in coping and healing. Julia has worked with diverse populations including people from different socioeconomic, racial, and cultural backgrounds.
