About

My clinical approach weaves together the science and art of psychotherapy, and rests on two main principles. First, I am committed to doing what works: I draw on the latest clinical research to provide treatments rooted in a range of conceptual frameworks that are well supported by scientific evidence. Second, I recognize and honor individual differences: I use creativity and skill to design treatments that align with each client's unique needs and experiences.

My work with clients is guided by the humanistic view that people have the right and responsibility to give meaning and shape to their lives. My goal with every client is to work together to develop effective strategies for improving wellbeing, overcoming challenges, and finding meaning and fulfillment.

Before becoming a psychologist, I served for three years as a combat medic; this experience helped shape my professional direction and my special interest in working with veterans and treating posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
