Stressful situations or painful events can change the trajectory of our life in powerful and lasting ways. A traumatizing experience such as an assault or accident, experiences of abuse, the death of someone close to you, a life-changing medical condition, losing your job, or major adjustments such as retirement or the end of a relationship can leave us feeling lost, alone, hopeless, angry, and afraid. My goal is to help you feel better quickly through cultivating new coping skills, as well as helping you to grow psychologically so that you are more prepared for the future ups and downs of life. Depression, PTSD, and interpersonal problems are my primary areas of focus. I have extensive experience working with veterans struggling with PTSD and related problems. Though psychodynamic in my theoretical orientation, I often integrate cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, mindfulness-based, and problem-solving techniques and strategies into therapy. I’ve seen how even those suffering severely can recover and turn to a new and hopeful chapter in their life with effective therapy. I have also personally experienced the value of good therapy and am dedicated to helping others. If you are struggling with PTSD, depression, interpersonal problems, or other related issues, please reach out by phone or email.
