Life is hard...and it is filled with pain and struggles that can lead people to try to control or avoid unwanted thoughts and/or emotions. Commonly, these efforts pull us away from the very aspects of life that offer meaning, connection, worth, and vitality. I believe that every individual knows exactly what matters to them, but life situations can distract and deter people from seeking a life well-lived. The primary objectives of therapy are to better understand ourselves and reclaim the light that dwells within. My goal is to assist and accompany you while navigating that journey. I largely orient as an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) therapist. My goal is to address avoidance tendencies and help you adjust how you relate to unwanted cognitions, feelings, and emotions by shaping distinctions between thoughts and the thinker and by promoting actions and behaviors that help you feel more alive and connected to your true self. I cultivate a safe, non-judgmental environment for self-exploration and to address mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, substance use and other addictions, anger management, distorted sense of self, and historical trauma. As a veteran, I understand the challenges of military life and the various issues that accompany military service.
