About

I am a clinical psychologist with offices in New Haven and Middletown. My clients are primarily adults, both individuals and couples. My areas of interest and/or expertise include marital distress; problems at work; spirituality and meditation; coping with life-altering illness; and grief. I have advanced training from the Gottman Institute in marital therapy, and have completed the training and supervision requirements for certification in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy developed by Susan Johnson and her colleagues. I also provide consultation and clinical supervision for other psychotherapists and organizations.

For 25 years I held faculty appointments in the Departments of Psychology and Psychiatry at Yale University and at the Yale School of Nursing. I was also one of the co-founders of the Connecticut Psychotherapists' Guild, a guild of therapists committed to protecting privacy and confidentiality in psychotherapy.

I accept traditional Medicare, including Medicare provided by Yale and the State of CT which is administered by Aetna. I ask all other clients (including those with Medicare Advantage coverage) to pay at the time of their sessions. Many clients are able to obtain partial reimbursement from their insurance carrier depending on their coverage.
