About

Often it is a life crisis that brings people to therapy; whether it is internal or external. Making the connection of trust and support with the therapist is the first step to the work. I believe in the power of therapy to change patterns that interfere with relationships and satisfaction in life. Over time I have developed great confidence in the benefit of exploring family of origin relationships and how they play out in life. Understanding these patterns is often crucial to change and improvement in anxiety and depression.

Prior to private practice, I treated both adolescent and adult clients in a variety of settings; hospitals, schools, and community mental health clinics. I am interested in working with African American, Hispanic and immigrant clients. Cultural/ethnic awareness is a priority of mine.

I strive to engage the client in a feeling process where authentic change occurs. While cognitive process is always a part of psychological change, patterns are deeply woven into our emotion; past and present. Deep change is a result of altering neurological and cognitive processes through feeling.
