About

Therapy is a collaborative relationship. I work with clients to develop a safe and trusting relationship that we can use to explore challenging interpersonal patterns, to work through stressful life events and conflicts, and to better understand the motivations underlying our behavior. Through the therapeutic relationship, we can develop an awareness of the impact thoughts, emotions, behaviors and interpersonal relationships have on the way we cope with life events. By understanding how the past impacts the present we can gain insight into our current issues and develop the skills to manage the challenges in our daily lives.

I have experience working with individuals, couples and families coping with challenges related to interpersonal conflict, addiction, anxiety, depression, brain injury, bipolar disorder and trauma/PTSD. I employ a strengths-based treatment approach and work to create a non-judgmental therapeutic environment.

I have extensive training in medication assisted treatment for alcohol and opiate use disorders, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy.
