Hello! My name is Jennifer Kerr and I am the founder of EMDR Therapy Center of CT. I have been a practitioner of wellness, healing, and therapeutic modalities for over 15 years. I am a yoga instructor (2015) and meditation teacher (2014). I have my BA in Psychology from SUNY Stony Brook (2001) and a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Southern Connecticut State University (2021). I am interested in supporting others as they explore their internal and external systems primarily through EMDR as well as other modalities, such as Interpersonal Neurobiology, Narrative therapy, Polyvagal theory, and Mindfulness Theory. As a "bottom-up" practitioner, I find healing happens when a client brings awareness first to the body's feelings, then the emotions, and lastly, the beliefs attached to the experience. EMDR or eye movement desensitization & reprocessing is an effective evidence-based modality and offers clients whole-body healing. I have found that supporting clients with other somatic and psychotherapy-based interventions in tangent with EMDR to be most effective. If you are someone who is looking to embody your sense of wellness and feel it in all your experiences, you have come to the right place.
