About

People often reach out for counseling with significant changes and shifting perspectives in their lives. Many carry grief, loss, chronic illness, caregiving of any age, or life transitions that they may or may not have expected. I often hear people say "I need somewhere to share my worries and fears" to "really listen" or "walk through this change" with me. Many people are needing to identify their feelings, thoughts and explore their own ambivalence around changes. Some find they develop a new sense of self, improved relation to others and relationships, a cultivation of mindfulness, find new hopes, success and meaning.

I am comfortable with medical complexities-yours or care of others-cancer, chronic, palliative and hospice experienced. I provide a strengths based emotion focused approach, use of motivational interviewing tools and cognitive behavior therapy. I focus on resiliency and we develop tools to support improving your thoughts, feelings and responses. ME & NH

I value knowing you- what is important to you, what stressors are in your life, and creating reasonable and progressive steps toward goals. I can support the ambivalence that happens along the way, while we work together at moving forward. I offer a down to earth, friendly and humanistic approach with plenty of humorous analogies in the process.
