About

I am a psychotherapist with a firm background in many kinds of therapy, including psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral and psychoanalytic. I have 15 years of post-master's level clinical experience, including work in the psychiatric unit at Bellevue Hospital, am psychoanalytically trained, and have a private practice on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

I take an empathic approach to therapy and believe in the importance of the relationship between the client and the therapist. I believe that effective psychotherapy provides the potential for change and growth in work, love, relationships and many other areas of life.

I specialize in gay, lesbian and transgender issues as well as anxiety and depressive disorders, childhood trauma and PTSD, bipolar disorder, adjustment to illness and relationship conflict.
