You are human. And if you are reading this you are somewhere in the middle of living out a great story - your life. Epics like these have been written for thousands of years, and we find ourselves existing, uniquely, in a long lineage of dramas, tragedies, romances, and comedies. But writing our own stories can be, and most often is, difficult. We can get stuck in chapters that seem to have no endings, desperately wanting to turn the page, but feeling, somehow, stuck and trapped. In our modern age, symptoms become characters that speak to us. Depression, Anger, Despair, and Anxiety, to name a few, start to fill our story. I am a depth psychotherapist - which at its core means that I believe you are not broken, and you are not just your symptoms. They are; however, happening for a reason. And, unfortunately, sorting through, and understanding them, has not been given an opportunity yet. Efforts have been made, work has been done, but deep, lasting, change has been elusive. In fifteen-plus years of clinical experience, what I encounter over and over again is that when we invest in understanding our stories (whichever one is being lived at the moment) healing begins to take hold and we recognize ourselves again. In alignment, our symptoms call less for our attention. The page turns and we step into the next phase of our epic.
