Like many people, I was skeptical regarding the benefits of therapy, but through my own therapeutic experience, I learned how rewarding it is. As a clinician, I provide the questions and guide the reflection that helps my clients see their concerns more clearly and grow real solutions that serve them. Part of this process is nurturing a safe space where judgment is missing and thoughts become organized. My belief is that change is ever constant and happens around us even when we believe things are static. Many people get stuck in patterns that do not serve them and some of us may even be afraid to go in a different direction. As a clinician, I challenge my clients (both individuals and couples) to imagine a different way of living, to see a future they deserve. I utilize different approaches to accomplish this clarity including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness techniques. I believe brief therapy can bring about significant change. As a man of color, I appreciate how important it is to meet men where they are. It is my hope that clients from underrepresented and under-served communities will see me as especially ready for that task. So I developed a philosophy of supporting communities that lack access to therapeutic resources and I’m glad to be working with them.
