Are you struggling in your relationship right now? Do you feel distant from your spouse or partner? Are you fighting a lot? Do you find yourself crying all the time and feeling bad about yourself? You are not alone. These are the kinds of concerns I often hear in both individual and couple therapy. Each of you, however is unique and needs solutions that are specific to your situation. I have 30 years of clinical experience in providing psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, and children, the last 25 of which have followed advanced training in couple and family therapy. My approach to treatment is problem focused while maintaining a positive, health driven view of people and their ability to change, often in a relatively short period of time. I see therapy as a process that focuses on each individual's strengths and responsibilities that are brought to their relationships. In addition to providing therapy, I have been a clinical supervisor/teacher at The Family Institute at Northwestern University since 1995, training graduate students and post graduates in couple and family therapy. Empowering people in the work that we do together fosters zest, action, and increased self worth.
