For 57 years I have worked with both private practice clients and school systems who are seeking practical remedies for a wide variety of individual, marital, parenting and extended family problems. My work is firmly rooted in family systems training and is best described as a process of establishing an accepting atmosphere in which specific and practical solutions to problems are collaboratively explored and developed between therapist and clients. I am licensed in Connecticut as both a Psychologist and Marriage and Family Therapist and I have consulted with many school systems regarding systemic approaches to student and family problems. My work is described in further detail on my website, jbocallaghan.com. Since the onset of COVID I am working exclusively in a telehealth/telemedicine capacity. I have extensive experience working with problems involving clients of all ages from the very youngest to those in their retirement years. I accept most insurance plans, including Medicaid and Medicare, and work with many Employee Assistance Programs. Hours are flexible with weekday and Saturday appointments available.
