About

Deciding to enter therapy is an act of courage. If you feel overwhelmed or are dealing with situations in your life you can't manage therapy can make a difference when nothing else has worked. I help my patients recognize previously-unknown obstacles and long-standing patterns that get in the way of achieving their goals. In their work with me, my patients expand their capacity to see options in various areas of their lives, and so can make changes that improve and enhance the quality of their lives. I treat adults of all backgrounds and identities, and bring compassion and respect for a person's suffering to this work.

I have 30+ years' experience working with anxiety and other emotional challenges, relationship problems, life-stage transitions, LGBTQ concerns, and issues around death / loss / grief. I focus on the emotional, psychodynamic, and cognitive patterns and experiences that block you from having a more satisfying life.

I bring a wide range of life experiences to my work, and they help me understand my patients' problems. As a psychotherapist / psychoanalyst, I work with my patients to find and build their strengths and internal resources. I practice from a Relational perspective, valuing the impact of our early relationships and how they influence us throughout lives.
