About

I am a UCLA and Pepperdine trained clinical psychotherapist specializing in the treatment of grief/loss and eating disorders. Dealing with grief and loss is one of the hardest things we have to do as humans. I use evidence-based treatments such as cognitive-behavioral therapy to help clients cope with the emotional pain so they can process the loss in the best way possible and move forward with their lives. I also help people with eating disorders live their best life. I am the author of the bestselling book Foodaholic The Seven Stages To Permanent Weight Loss and am maintaining my own 60 pound weight loss for many years. View 3 Photos

I founded the organization Motherless Daughters of Los Angeles in 1995 and have helped hundreds of motherless women cope with the loss. If you are a motherless daughter, you're in the right place. My own Mom passed when I was seven and she was 32. I understand and you are not alone. I am also on staff at UCLA's Risk Factor Obesity Clinic.

Having personal experience with weight loss (I lost over 60 lbs. and have kept it off for 30 years) and early mother loss, allows me to really "get" my clients. We can speak shorthand. This saves time and money. I understand and have been there myself.
