About

Welcome! My therapy style is warm and collaborative. I work with individuals to build on their strengths, grow self-understanding, address core struggles, and achieve greater freedom and fulfillment in their lives. I create a compassionate and safe space where healing, experiential learning, hope, insight, and new growth occur. I work with you to make long-lasting changes that enhance your self-confidence and life commitments (e.g., relationships, family, career). I bring 20+ years of practice experience; I am also a tenured Full Professor of Counseling Psychology and I train/supervise therapists. I speak Mandarin & Taiwanese, too.

I specialize in anxiety, depression, relationships, family issues, grief & loss, trauma/PTSD, eating issues, career counseling, and life directions/transitions. Being in practice for 20+ years, I am also very experienced and skilled in treating many other mental health issues. I use evidence-based practices that are culturally responsive and trauma-informed.

Taking the first step to start therapy is challenging and you may have ambivalence about doing it. With the right therapist, therapy does work and you will feel relieved and reconnect with hope and vitality for the future. Please feel free to reach out to see if I am the right therapist for you at this time in your journey toward better mental health.
