About

Sawubona! This is a Zulu greeting, literally meaning “I see you.” Sawubona carries the importance of recognizing the worth and dignity of each person. It says, “I see the whole of you—your experiences, your needs, your passions, your pain, your strengths and weaknesses, and your future. You are valuable to me.” This is how I feel about each and every client. My name is Helene Zupanc and I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor for over 15 years. I would be honored to walk beside you on your journey to better mental health.

I am a nurturing presence throughout your journey. I have open communication regarding your preferences, wants, and needs during our sessions. My style is to ask you what was helpful after each session and the direction that is most important to you for next session.

Goal setting is one of my favorite strategies to gauge progress and to make sure you are following up with interventions. Therapy is something that is done everyday, not just during our sessions, and goal setting ensures a seamless transition into your everyday life.
