About

I keep getting interviews but I’m not getting the job. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. When I ask for feedback, I don’t get much of an answer. I need someone who can tell me how I’m coming across in the interview because I’ve gotten jobs in the past that weren’t a great fit. I also need to be more clear about what I want in a job. Instead of helping the employer understand what I motivates me and what I enjoy doing, I try to guess the type of employee they are seeking so that I will get the job. This may explain the reason I haven’t been very happy in my past roles.

This time, I would like to be more intentional by having someone help me consciously identify what I’m “selling” in the interview and to be more aware of my skills and abilities. There are some problems that I’ve solved in the past that I thought were easy to solve and my manager was very complimentary about how I handled them.

A common dementor I’ve seen in all of my clients, regardless of professional background, is that they all have a hard time seeing that their talents are special. What is obvious to you is genius to others. I love helping my clients identify their areas of expertise so they can intentionally prepare for their interviews and highlight where they excel.
