Greetings. I imagine that you may be struggling with many difficult emotions, behaviors, and/or situations at this time. Clients who work with me find themselves encouraged to become active problem-solvers within their own lives, while also receiving the validation, support, and guidance needed to navigate the challenges they are facing. Our work together may mean processing and working through difficult material from your past, and/or it may mean a focus on more current concerns and then engaging together in problem-solving/stress management. I draw from an eclectic mix of therapy modalities, learned over my 20+ years as an LCSW. I was intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy in 2014, and also have extensive training and experience with other modalities, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Prolonged Exposure Therapy. My focus in sessions is upon helping you achieve the personal growth that you are seeking. A favorite quote by Goethe sums up my basic treatment philosophy: “Treat people as if they were what they ought to be and you help them become what they are capable of becoming.” I look forward to working with you.
