Resiliency...this is the most powerful quality of the human spirit. I work with clients to help them realize and expand upon this quality. I have been in the mental health field since 1998. My career has given me the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, and adults in every imaginable setting (e.g., private practice, clinics, inpatient, outpatient, outdoor therapy, HIV/AIDS, incarceration, foster care, addiction). My education, clients, and experiences have given me a wealth of understanding that I am thankful to be able to bring into my private practice. We all have behaviors and experiences that we do not fully understand. Why did I feel/do/think/say that? Why did I NOT feel/do/think/say that? Working together in therapy we come to better understand these patterns and the underlying emotional needs that drive them. These understandings lead to long-term insight, growth, and change. So often it is suffering that pushes us to reach out for help. We experience depression and anxiety and grief, and feel alone in this struggle. Therapy is a way of connecting with someone who can support you in these difficult times and help you find ways of coping that lead to growth, insight, and understanding. You do not have to walk this journey alone.
