About

While lasting change takes time, when individuals and families are struggling or in crisis, it is important that they find some immediate relief; I am mindful about attending to urgency for results. When helping someone make the changes they want, I recognize that symptoms of anxiety, sadness and interpersonal conflict all occur within contexts; these problems exist within a person and within a system - whether family, social or occupational.

Emotions that have become overwhelming impact not only ourselves but also the relationships we have with others. Clients understand that in order to solve the problems for which they seek help, developing an understanding of their internal experiences will need to be paired with an exploration of their relationships.

Using Family Systems, Attachment and Cognitive theories allows me to join the family structure, to explore the current relationship dynamics and encourage more effective patterns to emerge. I challenge couples and families to speak safely and directly with one another about unmet expectations and wishes so they may determine the direction they want to take.
