About

I am a licensed professional counselor who works with individuals and small groups. I hold a BA degree in psychology, a MA degree in education, and a MS degree in mental health counseling. I view counseling as a team effort to make sense of the past, create change for the future, and set goals and build skills to enhance peace and joy in life. For individual counseling, I practice an integrated approach with emphasis on psychodynamic, person-centered, and cognitive-behavioral theories and techniques. My approach to small group facilitation is psycho-educational for empowerment of group participants.

My primary work experience was acquired at a domestic violence agency and was focused on personal relationships, physical and emotional abuse, developmental needs of children and parenting skills, healing from hurts of the past and traumatic life events, assertiveness training, stress management, and conflict resolution.

I am a Christian and am comfortable addressing counseling issues through the Christian faith. I offer online counseling through a confidential platform provided by Psychology Today. Emails are confidentially handled through an encrypted service called Hushmail.
