Searching for someone to help when we are struggling can be difficult and uncomfortable. I want to make that process a little bit easier by employing a non-judgmental approach to meet someone where they are. My name is Matt Stamps, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Mental Health Service Provider. I believe in an empathic approach to therapy in which I work with my clients as partners to heal and recover from mental health issues. I utilize evidence-based approaches to assist clients in developing coping skills and new perspectives to improve day-to-day life. I have additional trainings in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). I utilize these techniques to effectively treat individuals struggling with challenges such as depression, anxiety, Bipolar Disorders, substance use, emotional dysregulation, and trauma. I take a casual, more relaxed stance within my therapy practice in which I want my clients to feel comfortable. This is important to me since it can be difficult enough to be vulnerable and choose to engage in therapy. I am non-judgmental and accepting of all beliefs, sexual orientations, and gender identities.
