40 years of clinical experience plus my own experience in recovery from addictions and traumas. My work is grounded in Holistic Psychology, Motivational Interviewing, EMDR trauma work, cognitive-behavioral techniques, & mindfulness training. My therapy approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I encourage an individual's ability to change self-defeating patterns of thoughts/behaviors, increase self-esteem, recognize strengths, and develop healthy relationships. I feel privileged to help facilitate growth and change in each of my clients as they work toward healthier, happier, and more fulfilling lives. I hold an Education Specialist Degree in Guidance and Counseling and a Master's of Arts Degree in Humanistic Psychology from the University of West Georgia. In the Counseling field since April, 1976. Extensive experience & training enables me to serve clients with substance abuse, trauma work, grief counseling, depression, anxiety, & dream interpretation. Accept most insurances including Aetna, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, TriCare, Cigna, United Behavioral Health, Humana, Optum, Crescent and Medcost. Medicaid is accepted on an individual basis. Also, a generous sliding scale of $60 to $90 for those clients without insurance coverage is available. My licensure does not allow me to accept Medicare.
