Therapists » Marriage & Family Therapist
I have expertise in marriage counseling and individual therapy, in which I specialize. Couples counseling is considered short-term, generally between 10 and 25 sessions. I focus on advancing communication skills, intimacy, trust, parenting skills, values clarification, resolving conflict, and building a marital vision. I also specialize in family-of-origin issues (relationship issues, generational problems, rejection complex, identity/ self-esteem concerns, and physical and sexual abuse). I provide chemical dependency assessment, diagnosis, intervention, treatment, and referral in my office and workplace settings. Workplace issues (managing stress, employee-to-employee conflict, critical incidents in the workplace, performance and conduct concerns) I also address. Theoretical Orientation & Counseling Techniques: Initial sessions involve a thorough assessment, working diagnosis, and either a treatment plan or appropriate referral for continued services. History taking, problem identification, and assessment of one’s needs are considered for diagnostic purposes.
