The world can be a complicated, confusing, and really overwhelming place, and we all develop our own ways of coping. Sometimes we reach a point where we realize some of our strategies need to change. I strongly believe that removing the shame and stigma associated with certain coping mechanisms and behaviors is integral to adjusting them. I work with clients to identify, and have compassion for, why they enact certain responses, behaviors, and patterns, and develop new ones that meet their current needs and desires.
I specialize in working with the LGBTQIA+ community, and those looking for support with their trauma symptoms, substance use, relationships, anxiety and depression. My therapeutic approach is built on harm reduction, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed frameworks.
I believe that therapy provides a unique opportunity to cultivate the experiences of connection and community that are integral to living and growing, and strive to do so through the creation of a space that is non-judgmental, destigmatizing, and collaborative.
