About

For all the conveniences and genuine marvels of the modern world, rates of stress, disease and mental illness continue to escalate, particularly in the wake of the collective trauma of Covid-19. Children, teens, and young adults have been especially hard hit. I work with individuals of all ages in diminishing feelings of alienation, fear, and hyper-reactivity and cultivating a sense of inner ease and well-being. Using play, talk and family therapy, we work together to understand the unmet needs underlying symptoms and figure out ways to address these needs via channeling the natural human instincts for growth and discovery.

I use play, mindfulness, education, and dialogue to help create more understanding around the most difficult feelings, such as terror, rage, and grief. We work together on finding ways to meet such feelings with compassion so that these feelings may be constructively expressed rather than continuously acted out via symptoms or problematic behaviors.

I have found that my work with children and families has created a powerful foundation for work with adults: as much as I speak to parents about ways to maximally support and parent their children, I just as often speak with adults about the lifelong journey of “reparenting” ourselves and mining wisdom and growth from our wounds and suffering.
