Hello. My name is Florence Simcoe. I have been a clinical social worker for almost 45 years (and still love it.) I am an LCSW, which is the highest degree of licensure in the state of Arizona- (LCSW 1016). As a clinician, I focus on the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental illness, emotional, and other behavioral disturbances. I individualize my theoretical approach to your needs and consider our work to be one of active partnership and collaboration. I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Goals are based on the initial and ongoing assessment. Goals are made collaboratively through our partnership and reviewed regularly. Our goals are S.M.A.R.T: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound. If indicated, we will revise, discontinue, or continue our goals, objectives, and/or strategies. Following a thorough assessment and describing my approach, I ask the question: do you think we can work together? During this time, I also consider whether I can help. Depending on what we decide and when appropriate, I assign homework. This allows me to further assess the client's willingness, commitment to, and interest in therapy.
