Welcome! I am so glad you are here and have decided to take this important first step on a journey of self-discovery. My approach focuses on not only what is happening on the surface, but finding the root cause. Our experience of stressful or scary moments does not always end when the event itself stops occurring. Our brain and body hold on to reminders of these times, which can have consequences for our work, relationships and overall well-being. Using Eye-movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) we will be able to work together to achieve healing of both the past and the present. I also have experience with addressing a variety of anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, and selective mutism in children. Using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) combined with gradual exposure, we will work to put you back in control of your life. Additional treatment modalities and techniques that I have experience with include Schema Therapy, Seeking Safety, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
