About

Life is often difficult and sometimes you need assistance in clarifying things and trying a new approach that makes sense. Without prior experience no one knows how to be a therapy client, so we begin there and then focus on what you want to accomplish by coming to sessions. You might be having difficulty with a coworker and could use some self-assertiveness training. Or need anger management skills for you and your partner. Or mood problems that have been an issue for a long time. Patient and careful assessment of your presenting issue is key for helping you get started feeling hopeful.

I often use Cognitive Behavior Therapy to assist in knowing your thinking patterns that drive negative thoughts, like anger, anxiety and depression. Using mindfulness, which is awareness without judging, you can observe negative thoughts without reacting so much and make behavior changes. It also promotes self-acceptance and self-esteem.

Years of experience have given me some insight and compassion for all of us when it comes to the many difficulties in life. Let's see what we can do.
