Have you seen a few therapists but felt that you were unable to get to the roots of your issues and experience transformational change and lasting relief? Desensitizing the body's threat response creates the internal safety to respond to situations in a healthier way. I work with clients who are looking for new ways to cope with life, and seek to change the behaviors and thinking patterns that are no longer serving them. The way that we think and feel about ourselves has a profound impact on our quality of life and how we work through our problems. Blocks to deep healing are in the mind and the body, so I use gentle somatic therapies (GST). These approaches, such as Advanced Integrative Therapy (AIT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), bring bodily awareness to support lasting healing from chronic stress, trauma, and an overactive nervous system. I specialize in treating dissociation and attachment trauma. Many of our coping strategies in the present have their roots in learned behaviors and formative events from childhood, and we are often not aware of their deep and lasting impact. My practice focuses on codependency issues, substance abuse, and family patterns of abuse and neglect.
