About

I'm a pre-licensed professional working towards becoming a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC). I'm working under the supervision of a licensed clinician. Prior to joining the Counseling Associates team, I worked at a college counseling center and supported students with a wide variety of presenting concerns. In my work with clients, I strive to develop a strong working relationship where they feel safe to discuss their values, goals, and concerns. I aim to highlight clients' strengths and develop treatment goals collaboratively.

I'm passionate about supporting clients as they explore new ways of conceptualizing and coping with life's challenges. My trauma-informed approach is client-centered and frequently incorporates existential elements. I often utilize interventions from Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and EMDR.

Essentially, my work is based in the belief that people generally do the best they can with the resources and knowledge that they have. It's important to me to honor the ways that even our "worst" coping skills have served us during challenging times. I seek to really understand where folks are in the present as well as what their goals are for the future.
