Certain problems in life can seem to really knock us off course. While it's no fun to suffer disorientation, I want to encourage you to hold steady. Life may be nurturing your development, and welcoming these challenges is key to navigating them more deftly. I am confident of this. In my own strivings, a number of such disorienting episodes have helped me learn to operate more effectively, both as a psychologist and as a human being. Prizing these opportunities has led me to focus on helping other bright and motivated persons like you learn to leverage such experiences for your learning and growth. I work well with physicians, academics, creatives and high tech workers on problems such as burnout, relationship stress, self-esteem vulnerabilities and deficiencies in coping. While my approach varies by client, I generally aspire to facilitate an awareness of patterns to the problem, and an orientation to the skills required to transcend such problems. In addition to working individually, I also really enjoy working with couples motivated to understand the dynamics in their relationship. In both modalities, I use intake forms and personality tests to gather insight, and throughout an engagement I aim to check in to assess progress and consider adjustments.
