About

I work with individuals exhibiting symptoms of anxiety and depression, and those with adjustment and relationship issues. I also specialize in sexuality issues, including sex therapy, women’s issues, sexual health, gender and sexual orientation. I offer a safe, welcoming, and judgment-free environment. We begin by defining your needs, and then work from your strengths to develop a plan to meet your needs. In sessions, we work together to build self-awareness, acceptance, and seek solutions to challenging issues. My experience includes over 25 years as a licensed therapist, serving hundreds of clients in the Greater Bangor area.

I was a professor of family relations and human sexuality at the University of Maine for almost 40 years, where I led efforts to promote sexual health and acceptance of sexuality as an essential component of life.

I have helped people of all ages gain insight into themselves, their sexuality and relationships, dispel anxieties and doubts, and resolve traumatic sexual experiences. I have experience working with individuals and couples. However, at this time, I am only seeing individuals on telehealth.
